 5. Schedule of hearing of cases.

It is a matter of observation that most of the time of the courts in each day is lost because we do not keep a schedule of hearing of the cases. It is advised that you should fix those cases in the early hour of the day in which the advocates have interest to proceed and other cases be fixed thereafter. In this manner the precious time of a judge can be saved and disposal of the cases can be increased.

 6. Purging of cases which are not active

As mentioned above we do not examine the pending cases in order to categorize the cases in the form of short cases and long cases. We also do not pay attention towards the cases which are not active. If we pay due attention towards these matters I am sure that the disposal of the cases can be increased manifold without any extra effort.

 7. Short Judgments.

It is also a matter of my experience that most of the judges believe that the lengthy judgments are sign of their competence therefore; they write lengthy judgments unnecessarily even in those cases in which short points are involved. They reproduce the evidence of the witnesses in toto besides repetition of facts. On the other day one of my colleagues told me that a Rent Controller had passed a tentative rent order comprising 42 pages. This is the height. A lengthy order usually contains repetition of facts, which does not give a good taste in the mouth of a reader. The judgments and orders should always be brief mentioning all the necessary facts and brief discussion on the point of law. This can save your valuable time, which can be utilized for the other works.

I hope this presentation will be helpful in your work, which will encourage the other judges also.
