 Court Resources:  

The district East Courts (excluding the courts of Sr.Civil Judges) have recently shifted to F-block in the Old City Courts Compound. There are 27 courts situated on the ground, first and second floor of the block. 8 Courts of Sr. civil judges are situated in Block G behind Block F. However, courts for juveniles offenders and for women lodged in jails as well as for those prisoners who can't' be taken out of the jail building for certain reasons are situated in
the judicial complex within the Karachi Central jail.

Library: Situated next to District & Sessions judge's Court, the new central library has more than 50,000 books with all major law digests and magazines. Previously, there was no central library. It is air-conditioned and has a seating capacity of 40 judges. Librarian has a computer connected with central network and Internet. It also has the facility of web connection
of www.pakistanlawsite.com an online law library. Moreover, electronic case law journal by Aalizeh publishers is also subscribed

Computer Lab Cum Training Cente: Adjacent to the library on the 2nd floor, air-conditioned computer lab has 9 computers including server, scanner, printers and UPs. 10 more computes will be installed within few weeks.All machines are installed with Microsoft windows 2000 operating system,Antivirus,
MS-Office and a central email software. All computers are networked with a central computer. Internet facility is available to all the users. This computer lab is also being used as training center for the judges and the staff. IT Department, Govt. of Sindh has undertaken to provide Professional Trainers.

Court Rooms: There are 35 courts and all courts are equipped with a computer, printer and UPS. Computers have also been provided to Nazareth branch.

Information Kiosk: Located beside the central entrance to the courts building, this center is also equipped with a centrally connected computer and a dedicated court official who is there to provide every possible information & help to the people coming to the courts.

Case Flow Management Software: This software is under implementation and will soon be available as a major resource for the District East Courts. This software will help the litigant to have online information on case status, scrutiny information, court proceedings, and cause list. All the case filing, case management and cause list will be automated as a result.

Court Website: The courts have a website which is being built around the concept to provide facilities for the people who come to court and for the judges as well. Content is being structured around specific legal problems faced frequently by a citizen. The required legal information is thus accessible via relevant links. The site displays important and basic information about the courts, its administration, various court services and programs, courts statistics, relevant law material, recent announcements, and various other general information materials. Most importantly, District & Sessions Judge has started receiving online complaints, relevant to the courts through this website. Soon, it will also provide online cause list and case management software link. The website is online formally and being expanded continuously which shows the commitment of the courts to its automation program.
